The Brazilian said in the official communication: “It is an honour for me to join the Marbella Futbol Club because my greatest motivation is the spectacular growth possibilities of the club. I have been to Marbella with my family on several occasions and my children, my wife and I are in love with this city, with which we want to be linked for life. Without a doubt, together we will dream big to take Marbella to the top, but now we have to enjoy our wonderful promotion to Primera Federacion.”
After spending two years in the fifth division of Spanish football, Marbella have received a lot of investment over the last couple of years, which has helped them push for two straight promotions in the Primera Federacion. After finishing atop the Tercera Federacion in the 2022-23 season, they finished third this season and attained promotion to Spanish football’s third tier via the playoffs.
Despite the announcement by Marbella, Casemiro’s future is still up in the air. United are reportedly still looking for permanent suitors for the 32-year-old, and it has been suggested that he could join former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, though their Saudi Pro League rivals Al-Hilal are also thought to be chasing his signing.
